Frequently Asked Questions

1. How long have you been a Democrat?

I have ALWAYS been a Democrat. I was raised in a Democratic family, surrounded by Democratic values, and supported by generations of relatives who served our party and our state. Years ago, in order to be supportive of my husband’s role in local politics, I temporarily changed my registration. But my loyalty has always been to the Democratic Party, and I am once again proudly registered where I belong.

2. What makes you the strongest Democrat to win the general election?

I have lived and worked in Sussex County for decades, built relationships across every part of the community, and earned the trust of residents from all walks of life. I know how to listen, how to work with people, and how to communicate Democratic values in a way that brings voters together. In a district this close, that ability is essential if we want to keep the 20th blue.

3. What are the top issues you plan to focus on?

My priorities come directly from talking with neighbors: fixing our roads and unsafe intersections, protecting our environment, improving access to healthcare, supporting seniors, strengthening schools, and ensuring that growth in Sussex County happens responsibly. These issues affect every family in the district, and they deserve real attention.

4. How will you protect the environment and our coastal communities?

I believe environmental protection is both a moral responsibility and an economic necessity. I support strong safeguards for clean water, wetlands, and natural habitats. I also support responsible growth that respects our coastal character and protects our communities from flooding, erosion, and overdevelopment.

5. What is your position on healthcare access in Sussex County?

Our region suffers from long wait times, limited specialists, and gaps in mental health and addiction services. I support expanding providers, improving access to treatment, and advocating for state-level investment that brings high-quality care closer to home. No one should have to drive across the state just to see a doctor.

6. How will you support seniors in our community?

Seniors deserve respect, independence, and security. I support policies that improve transportation, increase affordable housing options, expand healthcare access, and strengthen community programs that help older Delawareans stay active and supported.

7. What experience do you bring to the table?

I have more than 37 years of experience as a small business owner, real estate professional, and community volunteer. I have worked with families, seniors, property owners, and local organizations, and I understand the challenges that residents face in their daily lives. That practical experience is exactly what I want to bring to the State House.

8. How do I register as a Democrat, or change my party affiliation to Democrat?

It’s easy. Delaware voters can update their party affiliation online through the Department of Elections website, or they can visit any county elections office in person. If you are not registered, you can sign up online using your Delaware driver’s license or state ID. This election will be close, and every Democratic vote matters, so I encourage everyone to make their voice heard.

9. Are you willing to work with others once elected?

Absolutely. Being a Democrat means standing strong for our values, but it also means listening, building partnerships, and making progress for the people we represent. I will always fight for Democratic priorities, but I will work with anyone who wants to improve life for the people of Sussex County.
